Beginners quilting class
Saturday 28th July 10am - 4pm (half hour lunch break at 12:30)
This class is aimed at the absolute beginner quilter. I'll take you through piecing your charm pack together, sandwiching the layers together and attaching the bias binding and give you lots of tips and tricks along the way. During the class I'll teach you how to create a sewing machine cover, but the basic principles will apply to anything you decide to make. I recommend measuring your sewing machine before hand if you need a custom fit.
Materials you'll need to bring with you on the day:
Charm pack
At least half a metre of cotton wadding (You may want to prewash as this will shrink a little bit)
At least half a metre of cotton backing fabric
5 metres of bias binding (wider is easier) or 1/2 metre cotton to make your own
If we've got time:
Button, Stuffing, spare charm fabric pieces to make a matching pin cushion
Felt, spare charm fabrics pieces, backing fabric, wadding to make a needle case
Haberdashery items to bring with you: scissors, rotary cutters, quilting pins, thread etc
Please note that ONLY Aurifil or Guttermann threads are to be used on our machines please
(All materials are available in our shop)
Please note 3 students are needed for this class to run
