Apply the side of the tape with the coating onto the fabric, using a moderately hot iron to press. Give the patch time to cool before handling. Place the coated side of the tape onto the fabric and use a medium heat to iron. If repairing a hole, make sure to place a piece of paper under the hole before applying the patch. On a protected, sturdy surface, use your iron to preheat the worn area. Position the patch, with the shiny side facing down, onto the garment. Apply firm pressure for 40 to 45 seconds. Finish by pressing the edges. Check the bond once the patch has cooled. If necessary, repeat the ironing process.
