perfect hems on Jersey dresses

I bought a Baby Lock Ovation combined overlock and coverstitch machine from you in December 2017. Having seen the machine demonstrated in your shop I knew it would be perfect for me. The initial threading looks quite daunting but is actually very easy. The air threading for the two loopers is the best invention ever. Just place the threads in the hole and press a button.and the loopers are threaded. There is no fiddling with these threads to get the tension right, it works brilliantly every time. I have used 3 thread narrow and wide and 4 thread overlooking and each stitches perfectly. The differential feed means I can stitch any type of fabric with ease. It will also gather fabric. The coverstitch machine does perfect hems on Jersey dresses and T shirts with either 2 or 3 straight stitches. The single needle chain stitch is perfect for tacking items together that can then be quickly taken apart. A chain stitch alongside an overlock stitch means the seam is sewn and overlooked at the same time. With its 8 bobbin holders the machine looks quite complicated but I have found it very easy to use and the stitch quality is excellent. There are so many more features I have yet to explore. It is a joy to use.

you definitely get what you pay for

I bought a Babylock Ovation to replace my Babylock Evolve. It’s a fantastic machine although expensive you definitely get what you pay for. It’s an overlocker and coverstitch machine with Babylocks fabulous jet air threading system. Although the machine does have to be threaded differently when switching to coverstitch it’s easy to do. Moving needles is the only fiddly bit but the tools supplied really help. Fabric mouse give excellent support and I was able to sit with a Babylock educator for half an hour to see its capabilities. I have tried the different stitches on all kinds of fabrics and only had a problem doing a coverstitch on Lycra, which I quickly got advice on. Overall it does a lovely coverstitch with no skipped stitches. Overlocking is a breeze to set up and it stitches perfectly every time. I use the chain stitch when sewing a toile as it’s easy to pull out. I make most stretch items on this machine alone and the finish is very professional. The machine has a good sized space to get your fabric in and the needle lift is on the front of the machine. It has a knee lift if you prefer. Love it.

Stand Up Ovation!

Quite simply the best machine of any type i have ever owned, they have taken care of every detail. Jan from Babylock was at fabric mouse the day i purchased the Ovation (and a sashiko oops.) and she described it as the Rolls Royce of Overlockers, I think she undersold it, id say Its like a Super Yacht with a Rolls Royce Parked inside.
