How to Make Your Christmas Bunting
What You’ll Need:
- The Christmas Bunting fabric panel
- Bias binding (approximately 3 meters) or ribbon
- Scissors or rotary cutter
- Pins or fabric clips
- Sewing machine (or needle and thread for hand sewing)
- Matching thread
1. Prepare Your Fabric Panel
- Use scissors or a rotary cutter to cut out each triangle along the printed lines.
2. Optional: Backing Your Bunting
- If you’d like the bunting to be double-sided, cut additional fabric pieces the same size as the triangles. You can use plain or coordinating fabric for the backing.
3. Assemble the Bunting
- For single-layer bunting: Skip to step 4.
- For double-layer bunting: Place one bunting triangle and its backing piece right sides together. Sew along the two long edges, leaving the top edge open. Turn the triangle right side out and press flat.
4. Arrange Your Bunting
- Lay out the triangles in order to spell "Merry Christmas."
5. Attach to Bias Binding
- Fold your bias binding or ribbon in half lengthwise and press to create a crease.
- Starting about 30cm from one end of the binding (for hanging), insert the top edge of each triangle into the crease of the binding. Pin or clip in place. Leave a small gap (e.g., 2-3cm) between each triangle.
6. Sew the Bunting
- Sew along the length of the binding, close to the open edge, securing each triangle in place.
7. Finish Your Bunting
- Trim any loose threads.
- Your bunting is ready to hang! Use the extra length of binding at each end to tie or secure the bunting wherever you’d like to display it.

Tips for Success:
- Press your triangles and binding as you go for neat, professional results.
- For added durability, backstitch at the start and end of your sewing.
Enjoy your festive handmade decoration!
