Fabric Mouse Warranty Terms

Version: 1.0

Effective Date: 29 July 2026

Last Reviewed: 26 July 2026

Our Warranty Promise

We stand behind the machines we sell.

If something goes wrong that's covered by your warranty, we'll always do our best to put it right promptly, fairly and with honest advice. We'll explain what's covered, what isn't, and why, so you always know where you stand.

1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing your machine from Fabric Mouse.

We want you to enjoy using your machine with confidence, and we are committed to providing friendly, knowledgeable support should you ever need it.

These Warranty Terms explain what is covered by your Fabric Mouse warranty, what is not covered, and how to make a warranty claim.

Please read these terms alongside our Website Terms & Conditions, Delivery Policy and Servicing & Repairs Policy.

2. Warranty Provider

Unless otherwise stated, all Fabric Mouse warranties are provided by:

Young & Son Limited trading as Fabric Mouse.

Some machines also include a manufacturer's warranty. Where this applies, the manufacturer's terms may apply alongside, or instead of, the Fabric Mouse warranty depending upon the product purchased.

Any additional warranty offered by Fabric Mouse does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

3. Who Is Covered?

Unless otherwise stated in writing, the Fabric Mouse warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the machine.

The warranty is not transferable to another owner.

Where Fabric Mouse has expressly agreed to replace a remaining manufacturer warranty with a Fabric Mouse warranty (for example, on certain approved pre-owned machine sales), the warranty will apply only in accordance with the written agreement provided at the time of sale.

4. Warranty Period

The length of the warranty depends upon the product purchased.

The warranty period will be confirmed:

  • on your invoice;

  • within the product description;

  • or in any separate warranty documentation supplied with your machine.

Any extended warranty offered by Fabric Mouse is subject to the conditions explained within these Warranty Terms.

4A – Types of Warranty

Fabric Mouse provides different types of warranty depending on the machine purchased.

These may include:

  • Manufacturer warranties supplied with new machines.
  • Fabric Mouse warranties provided with selected new machines.
  • Fabric Mouse warranties provided with approved demonstration machines.
  • Fabric Mouse warranties provided with approved pre-loved machines.
  • Fabric Mouse warranties agreed in place of a remaining manufacturer warranty on certain approved second-hand sales.

The warranty applicable to your machine will be confirmed on your invoice or accompanying warranty documentation.

Where different warranty conditions apply to a particular product, those conditions will take precedence over these general Warranty Terms.

5. What Is Covered?

During the applicable warranty period, Fabric Mouse will repair or replace components that have failed due to defects in materials or workmanship, subject to these Warranty Terms.

Where a repair is possible, this will normally be our preferred solution.

Replacement parts may be new, refurbished or manufacturer-approved alternatives where appropriate.

Any repair or replacement carried out under warranty does not restart or extend the original warranty period unless required by law.

5A – Demonstration & Pre-Loved Machines

Demonstration and approved pre-loved machines are carefully inspected and tested before sale.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, these machines include the Fabric Mouse warranty specified at the time of purchase.

As these machines have been previously used, reasonable cosmetic marks or signs of use do not constitute warranty faults.

Any cosmetic imperfections present at the time of sale will be considered accepted by the customer and are not covered by the warranty.

5B – Outstanding Manufacturer Warranties

From time to time, Fabric Mouse may agree to provide a Fabric Mouse warranty in place of the remaining manufacturer's warranty on an approved machine that has changed ownership.

Where this arrangement has been agreed in writing, the Fabric Mouse warranty replaces the remaining manufacturer's warranty for the balance of the agreed warranty period.

This arrangement applies only where confirmed by Fabric Mouse and does not create a general transfer of warranty between owners.

6. What Is Not Covered?

The warranty does not cover faults or damage resulting from:

  • accidental damage;

  • misuse or neglect;

  • incorrect operation;

  • failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions;

  • unauthorised repairs or modifications;

  • commercial or business use where the warranty is intended for domestic use;

  • damage caused during transport to or from Fabric Mouse;

  • normal wear and tear;

  • cosmetic damage that does not affect the operation of the machine.

The warranty also does not cover consumable items that naturally wear through normal use, including (where applicable):

  • needles;

  • blades;

  • loopers;

  • knives;

  • bobbins;

  • light bulbs;

  • similar consumable components.

These exclusions help us keep our warranties fair and sustainable for all customers.

7. Routine Maintenance

Like any precision machine, sewing and embroidery machines benefit from regular servicing.

Routine servicing, cleaning and adjustment form part of normal ownership and are not warranty repairs.

Where an extended Fabric Mouse warranty is conditional upon periodic servicing, the applicable servicing requirements will be explained at the time of purchase.

Failure to meet those servicing requirements may invalidate any optional extended warranty provided by Fabric Mouse.

8. Making a Warranty Claim

If you believe your machine has developed a fault covered by warranty, please contact Fabric Mouse before returning the machine.

Many issues can be resolved quickly through advice or simple adjustments without the need to return the machine.

If your machine does need to be inspected, we will explain the next steps and advise you of anything that should accompany the machine.

Please do not send accessories unless requested.

8A – Before Returning Your Machine

Before returning a machine for warranty inspection, please contact Fabric Mouse.

Many issues can be resolved through advice over the telephone, by email or with a simple adjustment, avoiding the inconvenience of returning the machine.

If your machine does need to be returned, we will advise you:

  • whether any accessories should accompany the machine;
  • what should be removed before transport;
  • how best to prepare the machine for delivery if you are using a courier.

Please do not send accessories unless we have requested them, as they are unlikely to be required for the repair.

9. Returning Your Machine

Customers are responsible for arranging transport of their machine to and from Fabric Mouse for warranty inspections and repairs.

Warranty cover relates to the repair of the machine itself and does not include transport costs.

Fabric Mouse does not arrange, pay for or include collection or return shipping as part of any warranty.

Customers choosing to use a courier remain responsible for suitable packaging, transport and any transit insurance they consider appropriate.

Important

The Fabric Mouse warranty covers eligible repairs carried out under the warranty. It does not include the cost of transporting your machine to or from our premises.

9A – Machine Received with Transit Damage

This section applies only to new machines purchased directly from Fabric Mouse.

If your machine arrives with visible damage that appears to have occurred during transit, please do not use it.

Instead, contact Fabric Mouse as soon as reasonably possible and provide photographs of:

  • the outer packaging;
  • the damaged area of the machine; and
  • any visible damage to the packaging itself.

This allows us to investigate the issue promptly and work with the courier where necessary.

This section does not apply to:

  • approved pre-loved machines;
  • demonstration machines;
  • private sales between individuals; or
  • machines where Fabric Mouse has provided a replacement warranty in place of a remaining manufacturer's warranty.

Fabric Mouse cannot accept responsibility for cosmetic condition, transit damage or missing accessories relating to machines purchased privately from another owner.

10. Warranty Assessment

Every machine returned under warranty will first be assessed by our engineer.

If the reported fault is confirmed to be covered under the applicable warranty, the repair will be completed without charge for the covered work.

If the inspection shows that the reported fault falls outside the warranty terms, we will explain the reason and discuss the available options before carrying out any chargeable repair.

We believe that customers should always understand why a repair is or is not covered before any further work takes place.

11. Replacement Parts

Where replacement parts are required during a warranty repair, Fabric Mouse may use genuine manufacturer parts or suitable manufacturer-approved alternatives where appropriate.

Availability of replacement parts depends upon continued manufacturer support.

Where parts have been discontinued or are no longer available, we will discuss the available options with you.

12. Our Commitment

We are proud to support the machines we sell.

Our aim is always to keep your machine working reliably for as long as possible through honest advice, quality workmanship and friendly customer service.

If something goes wrong, we will always do our best to help and explain your options clearly.

12A – Our Approach to Customer Support

We understand that being without your sewing or embroidery machine can be frustrating.

Our aim is to resolve warranty issues as quickly as reasonably possible while ensuring that repairs are completed to a high standard.

Where possible, we will always try to offer advice that may help you resolve minor issues without the need to return your machine, saving both time and unnecessary expense.
