My wife ordered her Janome machine by calling the company. The service was quick and very friendly and helpful. They even sent her some free material to get her started. Machine is in first class order and arrived in two days
First visit to Fabric Mouse, excellent advice. They asked the right questions before recommending Janome 9400. Having owned a Janome for 35+ years I was happy to purchase, and by the time I got home I had confirmation my goods were on their way! So whilst not specifically used the purchased product would happily recommend Fabric Mouse, and if this machine lasts as long as my other one then I’ll be more than thrilled with it.
I bought the Janome 9400QCP and spent some a couple of days getting to know it’s many functions. I stitched out every one of the fabulous stitches onto cotton fabric to keep for reference regarding size and appearance, which has been useful many times. It’s easy to thread, especially the needle and rewinding the bobbin. I love the single hole footplate and foot to make it more like an industrial machine. I use it every time I work with sheer or lightweight fabrics. They are never pulled down under the footplate and chewed up at the beginning of a seam as often happens with an ordinary footplate and foot. The walking foot is well worth having for sewing difficult fabrics. As a professional dressmaker I get to sew on all kinds of fabrics and this machine handles everything perfectly. I also do free motion embroidery and quilting, which is so easy to set up. Changing the footplate, dropping the feed dogs and changing stitches are all very easy to do. The knee lift is great especially when doing appliqué. Buttonholes are also easy especially with the cloth setter to keep everything running smoothly. Finally the additional light is great especially if I need to unpick anything.
