Knives and needle plates

Upper and lower knives are different components and are not automatically supplied as a pair. Plates can have different stitch fingers and fittings. Compare the manufacturer’s part number, machine model and the included items shown in the listing.

Use the correct needle system

Overlockers and coverstitch machines do not all use the same needle system. Check the system and size in your machine manual; a similar-looking domestic needle is not a substitute unless the manufacturer specifies it.

Feet, controls and attachments

When the cut or stitch deteriorates

Check threading, the needles and the settings described in your manual. If the machine jams, a knife is chipped, or stitching remains poor after routine checks, arrange advice or servicing before replacing parts at random.

Can I use a sewing-machine needle in my overlocker?

Will a coverstitch accessory fit an overlocker?
