Sewing Machine Bobbin Cases
Find a replacement bobbin case or bobbin holder for your sewing or embroidery machine. Match the exact model and manufacturer part number: front-loading metal cases, drop-in holders and specialist quilting cases are not interchangeable.

Which bobbin case do I need?
- Front-loading or side-loading: a removable case, often metal, which holds the bobbin in the hook assembly.
- Top-loading or drop-in: a holder underneath the needle plate. Its shape, guides and locating points must match the machine.
- Specialist embroidery or quilting: a dedicated case may have a different tension setting or intended use. Check the product and machine instructions.
Before replacing the case
Inspect the case for needle strikes, chips or damage and check that it is seated correctly. Use the correct bobbin and rethread according to the machine manual. A replacement case cannot correct every tension or timing problem. If the needle hits the case, stop and have the cause checked.
What to compare
Check the complete part number, machine model, loading direction, locating features and whether the listing includes a case alone or a larger assembly. Do not treat “15K style” or a matching diameter as proof of fit.
Questions and answers
Is a bobbin case the same as a bobbin?
No. The bobbin holds the lower thread; the case or holder supports it in the machine.
Will a new case fix looping thread?
Not necessarily. Threading, the bobbin, needle, settings or a machine fault can also affect stitching. Check the manual and ask for help if the fault persists.
Can I use a free-motion case for everyday sewing?
Follow the case and machine instructions. A specialist case may be intended for a different thread or tension setup.
