Identify what needs replacing

Check whether the tiny hook is bent or missing, the holder is damaged, or the lever or complete mechanism needs attention. Compare the mounting method and exact manufacturer part number. A replacement hook alone will not repair a damaged mechanism.

Checks before ordering

• Use a straight, correctly inserted needle.
• Raise the needle to the position specified in the manual.
• Check that the needle size and thread are suitable for the built-in threader.
• Do not force a hook through the needle eye.

The supported needle and thread combinations vary by model. Special needles or threads may need manual threading.

Is a push-on pin interchangeable with a screw-on pin?

Do not substitute one for the other unless the manufacturer lists the same replacement for your model.

Why does the hook miss the needle eye?

The needle may be bent, inserted incorrectly, at the wrong height or outside the threader’s supported range. The threader can also be damaged or misaligned.

Does an automatic threader work with every thread?

No. Follow the machine’s stated needle and thread limits. Some special combinations must be threaded manually.
